Hobgoblins Stud is a family owned breeding enterprise specialising in Warmblood Competition, Quarterhorse and Morgan horses.

Hobgoblins Stud combines standing stallions at stud with specialised artificial insemination, semen collection and freezing and embryo transfer and freezing facilities. It is the only such facility in the UK owned and managed by a Resident Veterinary Surgeon who is a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction and holds a PhD in Equine Reproduction.

Our philosophy is to offer the best of National and International Competition Stallions at Stud alongside state-of-the-art specialised reproduction facilities for mare owners using the stallions based at Hobgoblins or using the semen of any stallion worldwide. The stallions offered include top International Dressage; Showjumping; Reining and Eventing Sires. Our success rates with fresh, chilled and frozen semen inseminations are excellent. Our results with embryo transfer are proven – in 2005 the two first Quarterhorse foals produced by ET in the UK were born at Hobgoblins Stud having been conceived at our reproduction centres the previous year. We are BEVA-licensed for artificial insemination and DEFRA licensed for semen collection and freezing. There is no more specialised private equine reproduction centre in the UK, and our stallions are internationally proven as both competition horses and sires.
