Quinito
Quinito is a fine
example of a traditional stamp of Lusitano stallion. Combining
athleticism with super rideability and remarkable intelligence, he is a
Baroque dream with an exemplary temperament, even among Lusitanos.
Quinito is possessed of an
extraordinarily trainable brain: having been trained in the lateral work
under saddle, he was able to replicate it all at the long reins after
five sessions, including half pass and walk pirouettes. In his stallion
training, he surprised everyone by mounting the dummy and providing a
sample on day 1! He can be ridden in a snaffle in mixed company and is
well accustomed to being handled and ridden in close proximity to mares.
Pedigree
A son of Eneas,
Champion Stallion at the 1994 International Festival of the Lusitano and
grandson of Cofre, out of Grelha, foundation mare for the
Coudelaria Pimentel da Fonseca stud in Portugal, Quinito demonstrates in
attitude and movement the bullfighting bloodlines of the famed Gaston
Santos stud. He can turn on the brio when required yet also give lessons
to beginner riders with mares looking on over the arena fence and
not turn a hair; he is an excellent all-round stallion. He stands at
15.2hh and has been graded and fully approved for breeding with the APSL
and the Lusitano Breed Society of Great Britain.
