Veterinary Surgeon Dr Madeleine Campbell, who is recognised by the Royal College
of Veterinary Surgeons and by the European College as a Specialist in Veterinary
Reproduction (Equine). She is a Diplomate of the
As the
only Veterinary Surgeon in the UK to be recognised as a Specialist in Equine
Reproduction by both the RCVS and the European College of Animal Reproduction,
Dr Campbell is in demand as a teacher as well as a clinician. Dr Campbell
lectures to undergraduate veterinary students as well as veterinary surgeons in
Practice who wish to improve their knowledge of equine reproduction
(post-graduate CPD). Dr Campbell is also the author of research, review articles
and a contributing author to a text book on equine reproduction, and a frequent
lecturer at international and national conferences.

specialists, Dr Campbell’s clinical work is underwritten by research. Dr
Campbell has recently been awarded a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellowship
to investigate the ethics of assisted reproductive techniques in non-human
mammals. Dr Campbell is the first Vet ever to be awarded such a fellowship.
In addition to her clinical and research work, Dr Campbell contributes to the wider equine veterinary community. She is an elected member of the British Veterinary Association’s Ethics and Welfare Committee; member of two RCVS working groups; a Past-President of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA), past Chair of BEVA’s Artificial Insemination Committee; past member of the Horse Race Betting Levy Board’s sub-committee on equine venereal diseases; an examiner for the RCVS Diploma in Equine Reproduction and a validator for the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate studies.
