Based on its extraordinary jumping and his carefulness, as well as his gorgeous movement, BALOU STAR became in March 2008, at the station Rollehof / Brookhouse Stud in D-Erbach, approved with the highest mark of 10.0 in jumping. In addition and at the occasion of his 30 days stallion performance test in December 2009 at the station Bescht at D-Schlieckau BALOU STAR, again, as the only stallion was rated with the highest marks of 10.0 in both jumping technique and jumping capability (10.0 summary mark). He convinced also through his exceptional and unruly performance attitude at the fence.  As a still four years young stallion, BALOU STAR demonstrated in Schlieckau against a very strong international field of same aged competition absolute top class free jumping!  Entirely without doubt, BALOU STAR is a soaring jewel both for the jumping ring as well as for breeding, due to his exceptional bloodlines in his pedigree.

Particularly interesting in the pedigree of this young Oldenburg breed new comer stallion BALOU STAR is the two time appearance of   Alme Z son Galoubet A. The Selle Francais Alme Z by Ibrahim practically influenced all of the European warmblood breeding decisively. The famous stallion Quidam de Revel also comes from the Alme Z line. At all international shows and olympic medal ranks one can find Alme Z blood. These successful genes are ever present with BALOU STAR on the father‘s as well as on the mother‘s side. Also, BALOU STAR was 3rd to 4rd generation line breed by Domino, who represents successful Hanoverian Schockemoehle as well as Zangersheide jumping blood.

BALOU STAR’s renowned and successful international young rider, Daniel Oppermann, will prepare him now for the upcoming tournament season and the qualification for the 2010 Bundeschampionat (German Federal Championship).

It seems increasingly realistic that currently 15.5 hands tall BALOU STAR might be able following in the footsteps of his famous grandfather Quick Star. Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum once named him the most important horse of her career as he helped her gain international fame: "…he was a phenomenon with a very impressive appearance. He had springs under his hooves.“

The first 2009 breeding season of BALOU STAR produced already several awarded foals that were very noticeably with regard to jumping ability, movement and interior.  For further information, please see www.showhorses-oppermann.com.
